Student Recruitment & Enrollment: Implementation Plays
- We work with school leaders to build awareness and buy-in with their staff on the importance of student recruitment as a multi-year effort and to understand the implications for school budget and operational systems. We coach school leaders to ensure that student recruitment strategies are included in their Call-to-Action plans.
- We work with school leaders to assess the inventory of marketing materials (e.g., websites, banners, one-pagers) available to aid in student recruitment efforts, and identify needed resources and improvements. We identify opportunities to develop school identity and brand that is well recognized by parents, students and community members.
- We arm school leaders with data and support them with analyses of enrollment trends to identify focus areas for student recruitment. We coach school leaders to build an incoming and outgoing student database and to survey incoming students to understand where they’re coming from.
- We advocate for schools to have access to district-level data needed to implement robust, targeted student recruitment efforts.
- We encourage school leaders to conduct outreach and build relationships with early education centers and feeder schools to bridge gaps and encourage reliability in enrollment patterns.
- We strategize with individual schools to develop a data-driven recruitment plan and marketing materials, including targeted outreach activities and events aligned with the school’s specific recruitment strategy, including articulation events, direct outreach to feeder schools, canvassing, home visits, and phone and email campaigns.
- We facilitate the design and execution of network-wide recruitment events and actively connect schools within each of our feeder patterns. We work to build student recruitment into other organization-wide initiatives that bring together parents and students from across the network.
